Life is Beachin'

My sister and I decided to plan a little getaway to Beverly Beach after finals week. We decided to take our boyfriends camping in a yurt for the weekend. Oregon beaches are usually cold and horrible even in the summer, so I really was not expecting to get any great beach action in early December. I was pleasantly surprised, luckily. The moment we arrived Paul had planned a hike for us up the Cascade Head Trail, just north of Lincoln City. It was an incredible hike and the view of the ocean was gorgeous. I just wish I wasn't so gross and sweaty when I had my picture taken.

The hike wasn't that grueling and even if it was, the view was so worth it. I didn't even have to edit any of these photos because it was spectacular on its own.

That night Ashley, Michael, and Paul staged a very early birthday surprise for me that caught me completely off guard. Ashley made me a banner and Paul brought ice cream cake. We had gin & tonics, Paul made delicious kabobs, and we played card games with Ashley's 80's Chippendale dancer cards.

On our last day, we spent our time on the actual beach. I wish mermaids existed and I was born as one because all I want to do is be in the ocean. It took all I had not to get into the freezing cold water and actually go swimming. It's a good thing I didn't because I ended up getting a cold from the trip and if I had actually gotten in the water I probably would have gotten pneumonia.

Quirky Girl

I die laughing every time I watch this video. It is ah-mazing! This is where I got my Halloween costume inspiration. Also, it reminds me of the knitting club I go to each week. Everyone there is just a tad quirky...

"Garbage, garbage. It's fun to bring home garbage."
P.s. I am totally proud of myself that I figured out how to finally do a blog banner. Took forever. I am not technology savvy.

Cheers!

Is it sad I already have my New Years outfit picked out and ready? I just love a holiday that is all about champagne and sparkles. I stare at this dress everyday in anticipation!
It's very sad....

Also, I am so stoked I got my dress for $10 at T.J. Max! I am also a little obsessed and excited to have another occasion to wear my Steve Madden heels that I've had for awhile. They remind me of Alice in Wonderland with the roses on them, very whimsical.

Photobooth Love

These are my favorite photos of Paul and I at the fair the first summer we were together. Right now we're both so busy with school and such that we hardly have time to see one another.

I just love to look back at this photo strip in hopes that we'll have time to be together and relaxed very soon. I also look at these to remember what Paul looks like.....It's been too long. Not to mention, I am so jealous of how much better his hair is here than mine. One day I hope to have a photo booth in my own house.

Wine Club| High School Reunion

I can never seem to justify spending money on Halloween costumes so I usually try to find things in my own closet. This year I decided to be Mary-Kate Olsen. Basically I just dressed like a crazy bag lady with huge sunglasses.

On my way to a Halloween party I stopped by the store in costume to pick up some wine. Everyone kept staring at me like I was bonkers and one lady said "You look like a Kardashian". I laughed and told her what my costume was and she replied "You don't look crack-whore enough". I guess I'll take that as a compliment.....
My good friend Kelsey (Aka: Rachel Draper for Halloween).

At the party I reunited with some old friends from high school that I haven't seen in ages. We girls spent the evening drinking wine and talking about high school, knitting, and sex. We loved it so much we decided to make it a weekly ritual every Monday night. So now I can officially put on my transcript that I am in a wine/knitting/vagina club. I couldn't be more proud.

I have a feeling it's going to be like The Golden Girls but with twenty-something year olds instead of women in their sixties.

Portlandia

Spent the day with my big sister in Portland. I really wish I could live up for the fact that everything is within walking distance. We had lunch at Veggie Grill, drank pumpkin beer, and went thrift shopping all day. If I wasn't so poor maybe I would move up there, since Portland State is where I want to get my Masters Degree.

Falling for Autumn

View from my backyard.
I love almost everything about Autumn in Oregon. My favorite things about it are:
Pumpkin Spice Everything. Scarfs. Moccasins. Crisp Air. Oversized Sweaters. Hard Apple Cider. Boots. Leaves. Halloween. Flushed Cheeks. Fires. Thick Socks. Big Blankets. Thanksgiving. Rainstorms.  Chai Tea. Flannels. Cuddling.

The perfect fall breakfast I made of vegan pumpkin
spice pancakes and apple cider.
